MOVIE REVIEWS - 1985
1985 was another solid year for Science Fiction, but the Horror genre started to feel less original as the Slasher sub-genre, led by Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees, saw sub-par sequels released. The Zombie sub-genre fared a little better. George A. Romero delivered his third "Dead" franchise film, while Stuart Gordon's RE-ANIMATOR gave a new cinematic life to a H.P. Lovercraft literary classic. Atop another RAMBO, the 14th James Bond, a Terry Gilliam masterpiece and a new Douglas-Turner outing sat BACK TO THE FUTURE, a film that not only won that year's Box Office Crown but has gone on to become a truly beloved Modern Classic of Cinema!
