MOVIE REVIEWS - 2015
2015 was a good year for genre films. The year was dominated by The Walt Disney Company, with Marvel and Lucasfilm sharing box office honours between AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. There were some break-out surprises, including Matthew Waughn's KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE, Alex Garland's EX_MACHINA and Denis Villeneuve's SICARIO. M.Night Shyamalan returned to critical and commercial success with THE VISIT, but Schwarzenegger failed to excite audiences with the ill-conceived TERMINATOR: GENISYS. However, the best movie of the year (not just genre) was George Miller's MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. A great cast, awesome stunt work, a sensational soundtrack and amazing visuals came together to create a breath-taking piece of cinema that wowed critics and audiences all over the world.
