​The character designs of the family are directly inspired from the Charles Addams comics, which portrayed them as more macabre and ghoulish for the sake of black comedy. Notably, Wednesday looks solemn, Pugsley is energetic, and Lurch has only one working eye.

​On September 10th, 2019 it was announced that the movie's soundtrack would contain songs by Christina Aguilera, Snoop Dogg and Migos, among others. Aguilera's recording, "Haunted Heart", was released as the official single by RCA Records. So was the song "My Family" by Migos, Karol G, Rock Mafia and Snoop Dogg.

​​The license plate of Gomez and Morticia's car begins with "CHAS," after Addams Family creator. It contains the numbers "1938" after the year that the Addams Family first appeared in The New Yorker magazine. Charles Addams.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY (2019) STORY SYNOPSIS

​Members of the mysterious and spooky Addams family -- Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester and Grandma -- are readily preparing for a visit from their even creepier relatives. But trouble soon arises when shady TV personality Margaux Needler realizes that the Addams' eerie hilltop mansion is standing in the way of her dream to sell all the houses in the neighborhood.
